1. Introduction

This E-Banking Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms and conditions under which you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) may access and use Bunyoro Finance Bank’s internet banking services (“E-Banking” or “Service”).

By registering for or using our E-Banking platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Agreement, along with our Privacy Policy and Website Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

To access E-Banking services, you must:

  • Hold an active account with Bunyoro Finance Bank
  • Be at least 18 years old or have legal capacity under Ugandan law
  • Have a valid phone number and/or email address registered with the Bank

3. Services Available

Through our E-Banking platform, you can:

  • View account balances and statements
  • Transfer funds between your accounts
  • Transfer funds to other Bunyoro Finance Bank customers
  • Make payments to third-party accounts within Uganda
  • Pay utility bills and other registered services
  • Apply for selected banking products online
  • Access customer service via secure messaging

4. Security Obligations

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your username, password, and PIN confidential
  • Changing your password regularly and avoiding predictable combinations
  • Immediately notifying us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
  • Using only secure devices and networks to access E-Banking

Important: The Bank will never request your password, PIN, or OTP via phone, SMS, or email.

5. Liability

  • You are liable for all transactions carried out using your credentials until you notify us of suspected unauthorised use.
  • The Bank will not be liable for losses caused by:
    • Your failure to protect login details
    • Transactions made with your authorisation
    • Internet or system downtime beyond our control
  • The Bank will be responsible for losses caused by its own negligence, system errors, or fraud.

6. Transaction Limits and Fees

  • Transaction limits are set according to your account type and regulatory requirements.
  • Certain transactions may attract fees as per our Tariff Guide, available on our Website and at all branches.
  • We may adjust limits and fees with prior notice.

7. Processing Times

  • Transactions between your own accounts are processed instantly.
  • Transfers to other banks follow Bank of Uganda clearing schedules.
  • Payments initiated after cut-off times may be processed the next business day.

8. Suspension or Termination of Service

We may suspend or terminate your E-Banking access if:

  • You violate this Agreement
  • Your account is closed or restricted
  • Fraud or suspicious activity is detected
  • Required by law or regulatory order

9. Communication and Notices

We will communicate with you through:

  • Secure in-platform messages
  • Your registered email or phone number
  • Notices posted on our Website or E-Banking portal

It is your responsibility to keep your contact information up to date.

10. Changes to the Agreement

We may update this Agreement at any time. The revised version will be posted on our Website and will take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.

11. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes will first be addressed through our internal complaints process.
  • If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the Uganda Bankers Association or the Bank of Uganda for mediation.
  • Legal action will be taken in accordance with the laws of Uganda, and Ugandan courts will have jurisdiction.
